In Quebec, the building code requires ASTM-1363 tests when considering the contribution of the reflective effect of a product in the insulation value calculation (R-value or RSI). These tests are performed on specific assemblies, including insulation, wall structures and so on.
The installation must be carried out according to the tested and selected assembly. To guarantee code compliance, the product must not be substituted by an equivalent.
Several wall assemblies are CCMC-certified or tested by external laboratories and compliant with the Quebec Building Code.
